Flat Course
The flat circuit is a right-handed, oval shaped course that is sharp in nature but also a relatively fair track. The entire course is one and a quarter mile long and that included the home straight of three and a half furlongs, which is on a slight upwards slope but not particularly gruelling nor overly energy sapping.
Despite the bends being quite sharp, there isn’t really that great of a draw bias due to how wide the bends are, therefore allowing wider draws to slot in around the outside or push on forwards freely.

The Lenebane Stakes is a mile and three furlong race that annually takes place on Ladies Day in July. The runners in the race must be three years old or older and not have won any Group 1 or Group 2 races, with those that have won Group 3 races or other Listed races having to carry an extra 3lbs.
A Listed race, owners who do not believe their best horses have a great opportunity of landing a race of this sort without having to compete against the very best.
The Kilbegnet Novice Chase, open for four year olds and older, is a two mile and half a furlong long steeplechase that often takes place in late September, or if the meeting list doesn’t allow then the last meeting of September.
After its awarding of Grade 3 status in 2007, the race has attracted top yards to send some of their cavalry to Roscommon to compete for the prize, with the likes of Gordon Elliott, Joseph O’Brien and Henry de Bromhead all having winners in the race in the past few years.
